Emergency Roadside Assistance

Broken down? Here's what to do first

Before anything else, get safe. A disabled semi on a shoulder is one of the most dangerous places in trucking.

  1. Get as far off the travel lanes as you can. A ramp, a wide shoulder, a truck stop, a scale pull-out — distance from traffic is everything.
  2. Flashers on immediately, and set your triangles: roughly 10, 100, and 200 feet behind the truck on the traffic side.
  3. Stay out of the cab if you're exposed. If traffic is passing close, wait uphill and upwind of the truck, well off the roadway.
  4. Don't attempt repairs in a live lane or on a soft shoulder. Air systems, charged springs, and jacking a loaded trailer are not shoulder jobs.
  5. Then call us. Describe what happened, what warning lights came on, and exactly where you are (mile marker, exit number, or truck stop name).

Emergency and after-hours truck repair — call (916) 571-8888

Pro Truck Services runs a full repair shop at 3036 Orange Grove Ave in North Highlands, and we come to trucks that can't come to us. Roadside breakdowns, no-starts in a customer's yard, a trailer that won't hold air at the dock — call and talk to a mechanic, in English or Russian (Мы говорим на Русском).

The shop is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. After-hours and emergency service is available — call the same number and we'll work out the fastest way to get you moving, including towing when the truck can't be repaired where it sits.

We work breakdowns across the Sacramento region and the corridors that carry its freight — I-80 from West Sacramento through Roseville and up the hill, I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 99.

What we can typically fix roadside

A large share of breakdowns don't need a tow. On-site, we can often handle:

  • Air leaks, airline and gladhand failures, and brake system problems that keep the rig from building pressure
  • Dead batteries, charging problems, and electrical faults — lights, starters, alternators
  • Belts, hoses, and cooling system failures caught before the engine overheated
  • Tire changes and repairs on tractor or trailer
  • Fuel problems — filters, gelling, air in the system
  • Diagnostic reads on check-engine and aftertreatment warnings, so you know whether it's safe to keep rolling

When towing is the right call

Internal engine failure, a transmission that's given up, wheel-end or kingpin damage — some failures shouldn't be patched on a shoulder. When that's the situation we'll say so directly, arrange towing, and put the truck in a bay instead of risking a worse failure ten miles down the road.

Coverage

Home base is North Highlands, on the I-80/Watt Avenue corridor. From there we cover the Sacramento metro and the freight corridors in every direction — if you're outside the immediate area, call anyway: depending on where you are and what's failed, the answer may still be yes, or we'll tell you honestly that a closer option will get you moving faster.

Common questions

Do you have after-hours emergency service?

Yes. The shop is open Monday–Friday 8–5, and after-hours and emergency service is available by phone — call (916) 571-8888 and we'll work out the next step with you.

Can you tow my truck?

Towing is available when a truck can't be repaired where it is — we'll arrange it as part of the call rather than leaving you to coordinate a second company yourself.

Do you come out for trailers too?

Yes — air leaks, brakes, lights, and tires on trailers are some of the most common roadside calls we take.

How much does a roadside call cost?

It depends on where you are and what's failed, so we quote it on the phone before anyone rolls — you'll know the cost before you commit, and we won't invent a number here that doesn't survive contact with reality.
