Forced Regen Service

A forced regen without a diagnosis is a snooze button

When the parked regen fails or the truck stops offering one, a forced regen from our diagnostic tooling clears the soot — but soot is a symptom. Something loaded that filter faster than passive regens could burn it: a duty cycle that never gets hot, a sensor lying about temperatures, an upstream fault making excess soot. We perform the regen AND read why it was needed, so you’re buying a fix, not a subscription.

What the service includes

  • Pre-regen assessment — soot and ash load, fault history, whether a regen is safe (forcing a regen on an overloaded or damaged filter can destroy it)
  • The forced regeneration itself — in the shop, or via mobile service where the truck sits when conditions allow
  • Post-regen verification under real load — not just a lamp turned off
  • The why: regen history and upstream checks, with honest next steps if this filter is heading for cleaning or replacement

When you need this today

Flashing DPF lamp, regen attempts that start and abort, or a countdown to derate — call (916) 571-8888 before the computer stops cooperating. Our DPF warning guide explains what each lamp state means.

What we never do: deletes or defeat devices — illegal in California, and the repair path is cheaper than the consequences.

Can any truck be force-regenerated?

Most modern platforms, yes — but not every filter SHOULD be. Ash-packed or damaged filters need cleaning or replacement, and forcing heat through them wastes your money. That’s what the pre-check is for.

How long does it take?

Typically under an hour once started, depending on soot load and system health — we’ll give you the honest window when we see the truck’s data.

Why does my truck need regens so often?

Frequent regens = something upstream is wrong or the duty cycle can’t sustain passive regeneration. Either way it’s diagnosable — and fixing it pays for itself in fuel alone.

Managing more than one truck? Regens that keep interrupting routes are a maintenance-interval symptom. Read about reducing fleet downtime.
